Scart is what I call the process of scanning all sorts of objects on my flatbed scanner, even junk, and
making pictures of them. Thus...scan+art....Scart! I've had all sorts of fun doing this.
Some of my favorite, are ones that I took things that reminded me of my Aunt Kate, Granny and
Grandpa and made them into a picture.
Here's one of Aunt Kate. There is a tatting shuttle and hankie she made, a piece of quilt she made,
one of her vases, hair pins, and a lid with some green foam to look like Asthmador. That's what she
inhaled daily for her asthma. I researced later and found out it was made from "Loco weed"! It's
been off the market for many years. We loved to lay by her in bed as she inhaled it and watch it
sparkle.
Grandpa always wore overalls, smoked a pipe, carried a silver dollar and knife in his pocket and was a farmer.
He was also known for his skill at playing dominoes at the poolhall.
Granny was always sewing on something and crochetted around washclothes to give out for presents.
The black and white striped thing is a beanbag she made for us to play with. Also one of her favorite
breast pens, and notes from a trip to Alaska her sister took her on. The lid of the powder box reminded me
of her when she got dressed up to go somewhere. She always put a healthy layer of powder on.
Some I did just for fun. A mushroom I called "my brain" and one of a snowman. I really had to hurry on this one!
More Scart
I hope you enjoyed my "Scart" and will come back and visit again soon.
